About the CPD Talk

 

Macao is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with more than 20 historical locations of note. It is one of the most unique destinations in Asia with its East-Meets-West architecture and culture which coexists side by side with a modern and lavish lifestyle generated by its casinos and tourist industry.

This talk is about the experience of the restoration and reuse of the Macau architectural heritage, taking Mandarin House, Music School, Patane Library and Ho Clan Ancestral Hall as examples.

About the Speaker

 

Mr Cheong Cheok Kio

Registered Architect, member of ICOMOS. Mr Cheong served as the Head of Cultural Heritage Department in Macao from 2005-2016. He earned his Master Degree in Architectural Conservation Program at Hong Kong University and PHD. of Architecture at South East University in China.
