About the CPD 活動簡述:

The Former Lau Fau Shan Police Station is one of the historic buildings included in the Batch V of the Revitalising Historical Buildings Through Partnership Scheme. It is a Grade 3 Historic Building that was opened in 1963 to replace an earlier temporary police post on the same site. Designed as a utilitarian building, the Former LFS Police Station follows a U-shaped plan formed by justapositioning of building masses, with elevations consisting of expressed grids. It was recently revitalised into the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Academy by the operator Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association.

This site visit aims to introduce the cultural significance of the Former Lau Fau Shan Police Station, and to explore the revitalisation journey of the Site. Speakers from the HKGDA and the project team will introduce the objectives of the project, the major works done for the adaptive reuse of the building, technical considerations of heritage conservation, as well as challenges and struggles throughout the process.
